Olympian Labs Herp-Eeze

While Olympian Labs Herp-Eeze may contain some top-notch ingredients, we placed it in second place due to a number of missing factors where we felt it fell short and needed to improve. The issues we had included a high price tag as well as lack of guarantee. Moreover, this product is not specifically targeted towards combating Shingles, but rather focuses on Herpes.

However, considering that both of these medical issues are caused by the same virus, it’s ingredients including L-lysine, Zinc and Vitamin C definitely appealed to us. We liked that it contains herbs with antioxidant benefits to fight off infection, such as Prunella Vulgaris, Olive Leaf, Acerola and Clove extract, but it is missing many others known to help such as Lemon Balm, Oregano and Astragalus, which provide strong calming and soothing properties as well as boosting immunity to ensure future outbreaks are kept to a minimum. That said, overall we like this manufacturer, as it appears that their product is well researched and carefully formulated.

When reviewing this product, we were pleased to see that this price tag does suggest high quality, however it is a bit too expensive when compared to its peers. We appreciate that one of the main ingredients in the formula is L-lysine, an ingredient known to help combat Shingles along with Vitamin C and Zinc (well-known antioxidants) and these may be expensive ingredients, especially if sourced from the best places. Unfortunately, our main issue is that we felt the formula is lacking some key ingredients that are specifically targeted at Shingles symptoms, such as B vitamins and Proteolytic enzymes. We liked that we found a fair amount of positive reviews which shows us that many consumers have found this product to work for them. There were some disappointments we found where consumers claimed the product didn’t work for them, some also claimed there was an unpleasant residue on the capsules. The dosage is also quite large, since one daily serving requires you to take 4 capsules, which we find to be rather excessive. 

Additionally we were disappointed to see that there is no satisfaction guarantee granted to customers which leaves us wondering how effective the product is seeing as the manufacturer doesn’t back up his own product. We found that if you purchase the product directly from the manufacturer’s website, you are given a 30-day guarantee but only for unopened products. Since this item is sold primarily on Amazon, we are left wondering if you buy from a third party whether this guarantee is still valid.

These are big claims for just one product so we were interested to see how this product worked out there in the real world and hear from customers as to whether it was effective or not.  

We liked that this product is specifically targeted at combating Shingles, albeit along with other infections. There are not many products like this on the market which indicates that this manufacturer has done their research in understanding what can help people suffering with Shingles. This is an exclusively homeopathic product, which means the ingredients are not clinically researched however they did add a range of herbs to aid in pain relief such as Gentian root, Scutellaria root to help dry out the blisters faster as well as Ginger root to boost anti-inflammatory benefits. Ideally we prefer products that contain clinically-proven ingredients that have been scientifically proven to help and are backed by clinical data. The biggest failure in this formula is the exclusion of L-lysine, the key amino acid shown to address the symptoms associated with Shingles and speed up recovery. Without this, Clear Cold Sores, Shingles & UTI’s will not progress in our ranking.

The main reason we chose this product as our third pick was the sheer amount of positive reviews we found online, claiming that it really works. We did find some negative reviews that claimed this product didn’t work, but of course with any supplement, each person responds differently given a number of considerable factors, and it may not work for everyone or at least work differently. Unfortunately, we found no money-back guarantee which is a pity because this always shows us the manufacturers confidence in their product. That said, the price is not terribly high, so it may just be worth trying it out with not a lot to lose.
