All the product information is laid out clearly on their website, so no need to go digging anywhere or make our lives difficult in analyzing the ingredients used for this formula.
We are going somewhat out of our comfort zone with this product seeing as it is homeopathic. We don’t usually put a homeopathic product so high up on our list since the ingredients used are not scientifically researched and there are no clinical studies available. However, this product is specifically geared towards Shingles (as well as cold sores and UTI’s) and has a fountain of positive reviews, so how could we not put it up here as third place?
Seeing as this is a homeopathic remedy, it does not have any of the ingredients that we believe should be included in a Shingles supplement. It doesn’t contain L-lysine, B vitamins, Proteolytic Enzymes, Zinc or adaptogenic mushrooms such as Maitake, Shiitake, Reishi, or Cordyceps. We believe these ingredients are the ultimate solution to Shingles, ones that will help get rid of Shingles, relieve the pain and boost the immune system. Shame they weren’t in this product.
The manufacturer’s website states that their products are not intended to be used to treat or cure any medical conditions, but rather to be used as nutritional support. This leaves us a bit confused, seeing as the point of taking this product would be precisely to get rid of Shingles. In terms of price, this product is affordable, but if you are looking for a long-term solution then it can work out to be quite expensive. We didn’t see any multi-purchase options or discounts available that would make long-term use any cheaper. One should note that there are 60 capsules in a bottle, and according to the directions for use, you should take 2 capsules 3 times a day. That means this bottle would only last ten days. This amps up the price of the product quite significantly for what you are getting.
We were also disappointed to see that there is no money-back guarantee. This means that you buy the product based merely on customer reviews and if you are disappointed with the product, there is nothing you can do about it. This is upsetting because getting rid of Shingles can take a significant amount of time, so a bottle that lasts just ten days might not cut it.

It means that even though the company states it is not formulated to treat the virus, but merely as a nutritional supplement, you should not rely on this product long-term. The company intends for someone to start taking this product as soon as they see the virus appear. This is not always practical as it may take some time for someone to realize that what they’re experiencing is in fact Shingles and not an allergic reaction or other sort of rash. We find it important for a company to provide a long term solution, a product that will help keep the virus at bay and will stop it from returning. While it clearly states on the manufacturer’s site that strengthening the immune system is important in preventing an outbreak, then why are they not offering a product that you can take long-term precisely for that purpose? This leaves us rather confused and quite disappointed.

In terms of safety, as previously mentioned this product is not intended for long-term use, however the manufacturer states that it should be taken for at least 1-2 weeks. One should always go according to the manufacturer’s recommendations as per their product. In addition, the manufacturer recommends taking this supplement with food to avoid stomach issues. Other than that all the ingredients used are natural, homeopathic ingredients so there shouldn’t be any reason that this product is not safe for consumption.
In addition, it is pleasing to see that the company does follow Good Manufacturing Practices. This is always important. However, as with any new supplement you introduce to your life, you should always consult with your health care provider about any prior health conditions that you have.

In addition to that, it is specifically geared towards Shingles, as mentioned in the name of the product. However, seeing as it is a homeopathic product, it is hard for us to get behind the formula since there is no scientific research that this formula was based on.
None of the main ingredients used in this product are based on clinical research. While this product does include a number of herbs, none of them are the ones we would recommend for a Shingles product such as Lemon Herb, Astragalus, Oregano. This is an opportunity lost in our opinion, seeing as these herbs were not included in the formula.
We like that this is a reputable company that produces a wide range of products. We were disappointed however, that there is no money-back guarantee. Even though the price of a bottle is affordable, it only contains 60 capsules and with a recommended dose of 6 capsules a day (2×3) it works out to be rather expensive. We were also disappointed that it is not recommended for long-term use. This is particularly disturbing seeing as the manufacturer states that a strong immune system is the best prevention of viruses, however it takes time to build up your immune system, definitely more than 10 days. This is why we liked Zosterex, because it has an all-in-one solution to combat Shingles as well as the option to take long-term for an added immune boost.
